Suited and Booted’s reinterpretation of “Glad All Over” achieves a rare feat: paying homage to the Dave Clark Five classic without falling into the obvious copy, injecting a fresh and energetic personality into the track. The great asset of the version is in the vocal dynamics. The fit between the lead voice and the backing vocals creates rich textures that sustain the chorus very strongly, in addition to keeping the verses engaging from start to finish. Instrumentally, the idea of adopting a tempo with that accelerated gallop-like beat gives a whole new breath to the structure of the song, pushing the energy upwards. All of this is tied together by a neat production and mastering, which balances the weight of modern clothing with the lightness of the original composition. It is a solar band, high-spirited and genuinely made upwards. A round work, which lives up to the recent recognition on the Groover charts.
